DEREK JAMES
Head Coach
Derek began coaching for the Seawolves in the Fall of 2014. Since then, the team has secured 2 Tournament wins once his first season with the Seawolves at the 2015 Westchester Classic, and once again in 2019 with the Boulevard Bowl Classic in Schenectady, NY. The team has also secured several high finishes in the regular tournament season.
Prior to 2014-2015 season, Derek was an assistant coach for four seasons with St. Johns University for which he once competed as an athlete for the program.
Derek is a USBC Silver Level Coach, Bowlers Journal Top 100 Coach, and a Storm/Roto Grip Staffer. He has a B.S. in Computer Science, an M.S. in Sport Psychology and a PhD candidate specializing in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
KURT SCHALL
Kurt started his collegiate experience in the 2017-2018 season. After taking a brief hiatus, he rejoined the team in second half of 2018 and continued his collegiate career through the pandemic and completed his collegiate career at the end of the Fall season of 2021. Kurt has enjoyed success on the lanes during his collegiate days with a win at the 2019 Boulevard Bowl Collegiate Classic and high total series for the tournament. A 300 at the 2019 Northeast Winter Classic. He advanced to the nationals of the ISC Singles Sectionals in Dayton, Ohio. Kurt has achieve a bachelors in economics and works full time while assuming coaching duties with the current team.

THOMAS MURRAY
Assistant Coach
Tom has experience as a former collegiate by successfully completing four years of competition for the Stony Brook Seawolves with achievements of 1st place in 2015 Westchester Classic and member of 2017 Sectional Team with only 5 members to make considerable run for a spot in Nationals. He is currently a Team Coordinator and Assistant Coach since the 2017-2018 season. Tom has achieved an MBA from Stony Brook along with an M.A. in Public Policy.
